What We Do

Our Therapeutic Approach

We provide evidence-based therapies for soldiers who may have trauma from wartime experiences. We introduce techniques focused on reducing stress and developing skills to live in the present moment. The program is tailored to address the unique nature of combat-related trauma, which often involves complex emotional, psychological, and physiological responses. Techniques such as meditation and breathing exercises help participants cope with triggers, reduce avoidance, and build resilience to manage intrusive thoughts and emotional dysregulation. The soldiers learn to reframe negative thought patterns to foster acceptance and reduce emotional distress tied to traumatic events.

Our Programs

Mindful Hiking

Every trail provides an opportunity for self-reflection and appreciation. These active sessions are designed to enhance mental clarity and focus, fostering a deeper connection with nature and the inner self.

Meditation

Meditation and journaling are integral parts of our program, helping soldiers cultivate self-awareness and emotional clarity. Through guided meditation sessions and reflective journaling practices, participants are encouraged to process their thoughts, manage stress, and deepen their personal growth.

Workshops

The retreat experience is enhanced with specialized workshops tailored for soldiers that promote overall well-being. Participants engage in proven spiritual techniques to teach them to live in the present moment.

Creative Outlets

Creative outlets such as painting and drawing are used to help soldiers express emotions and experiences in a non-verbal way. These activities offer a therapeutic escape, allowing participants to tap into their creativity, reduce stress, and gain new insights into their healing journey.

Yoga & Breath

Breathwork and yoga are incorporated into our program to promote physical and emotional healing. These practices help participants reduce stress, enhance relaxation, and build resilience, fostering a deeper connection between mind and body.

Group Meals

We foster community through shared meals, educating participants about the importance of enjoying and appreciating food together. Through group dining experiences, we aim to instill a sense of connection and responsibility toward nurturing relationships over delicious, shared dishes.

Our Location

Surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and the calming waters of Lake Tahoe, participants can immerse themselves in nature while engaging in mindfulness practices. These serene environments provide the perfect backdrop for emotional healing and personal growth, allowing our warriors to reflect, recharge, and connect with nature and one another.
